Understanding and Handling the Frustrations of Life

(pexels)

The beauty of our life manifests itself in many ways.

But there exist the dualities, the opposites alongside this beauty. Sometimes those dualities (like the day and night) hit us back in much harsher ways than anticipated.

One such duality is frustration.

Frustration manifests itself as the feeling of being very upset, or sometimes very annoyed, most of the time it’s simply for the fact that something desirable is either not achievable, our efforts towards achieving something is not fetching the desired results, or an unpleasant issue or situation that's isn't changeable despite our best efforts.

Frustrations keep surfacing, echoing in our ears, sometimes reminding us of our bygone failures or the ones that resulted out of our wrong actions or inactions.

Failures happen most of the time due to inaction rather than action – PsyYoga.org

Consistent failures lead to Frustrations which in turn makes an otherwise beautiful life into an un-livable mess resulting in loss of inner balance.

Many people lose their inner balance which could further result in bad temper, difficult relationships, restlessness and ultimately untold sadness.

How an PsyYogi,  the practitioner of PsyYoga, an psychologically well balanced person handles such a situation is brought out in this article.

To get a grip on the dualities of life, PsyYoga is formulated as a simple tool to balance our psyche by understanding ourselves better.

With little efforts, and a deeper understanding of ourselves, we can see astonishing results, we'll be able to appreciate our life and others without giving in to the frustrations that ravage many of us like a mad bull.

Understanding is primary in solving any problem.

Most frustrations stem primarily from one or more of the following:

- Unable to earn money in spite of best efforts

- Lack of love in relationship or marriage

- Nagging health issues that doesn't seem to resolve even after sustained efforts

- Stagnation or dealing with the daily grind

- Lack of appreciation or zest for life

- Tough and unbeatable competition, unable to meet the targets

-External issues like the one created by other people’s carelessness or insensitiveness

- Difficult situation faced by our loved ones and unable to help them due to our current circumstances

- Excesses in pain or pleasure

Are some of the common reasons for frustrations as one hits the wall? For most people it’s very rare or occasional frustration  but for a some its nagging and frequent.

Life is painful and very difficult for them.

Continuous or unresolved frustration leads to excess anger and an whole lot of negative emotions.

How do we recognize and arrest the frustration in the bud itself before it manifests into anger.

Anger stems from an advanced manifestation of frustrations. - PsyYoga.org

Understanding of our self is the key to solve the problems that lay hidden deep within us.

Proper understanding will aid in quick resolution of issues as they arise and help one lead a beautiful life.

We need to come out of the old mindset and embrace the new mindset.

Old Mindset:

Something is wrong with me. I am not enough and I need to improve so that negative things don’t happen to me.  It happens only to me others are enjoying their life. I’m unlucky and end up in issues and frustrations.

New Mindset:

I am human, and a lot can wrong with me and due to others I deal with. I have been putting my best efforts but there are lots of things happening that are beyond my control in this complex society. However, I use my tools and put my best efforts to handle the things that are under my control skillfully.

Takeaway one:

Even the top people in the world face frustrations at some point in their life. The goal isn’t eliminating frustrations al together - it is finding methods and tools to deal with them skillfully.

Takeaway two:

Conscious breathing is another effective way to stay in grip when you feel frustrated.

This can eliminate further escalation of the frustration into anger or other undesired emotions leading to behavioral and judgment errors or hurling out undesired words at someone.

Practicing breath work in frustrated state acts like a valuable tool to counter it.

Our aim is to be in a state of top mental fitness, that is in a state of readiness.

Readiness to handle any eventualities or readiness to recover quickly from issues. Life is not about staying perfect. Its about staying ready to respond to life's challenges with preparedness.
